Here are the messages I collected from The Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe on July 2nd. When asked to put anonymous messages in old bottles to send out to the sea this is what the audience came up with.

I was surprised with this lovely box hand made by my musician friend Dan from Kentucky. He modeled it after my song Funeral Pyre. What a wonderful gift from a wonderful person! I love it!

Today is a BIG day!

Practicing patience patiently.

Planting an Orchard!

A dream is coming true.

I have been dreaming of planting fruit trees out at Loba Blanca Hacienda for years. 

Two weeks ago we put two peach trees in the ground!  That day we also planted four blueberry bushes, two blackberry and a raspberry! Yum.

I have been getting some great help from my strong brother who is a professional digger.

This Sunday we planted four apple trees! It was the most beautiful misty day on top of the hill. The ground was moist, but we hit a lot of caliche which made it really hard to dig.

Jonny Appleseed suggested we start by planting the apple trees.

We used pick axes, post hole diggers, pointed shovels, trench shovels, and heavy spikes, and finally got four nice holes. We mixed mom's home made compost with peat moss and got a nice soil with good drainage. We packed it down with the baby trees and added root stimulator. Finally we covered the area with cedar mulch and watered them in. They were given a good home. I just hope they find the strength to root through the caliche. 

I'm excited! It will probably take a few years for them to begin to fruit. I will be eagerly waiting, and when they finally do there will be plenty to share with you.

There are still 6 trees to plant, two pear, two plum, and two fig. So let me know if you are interested in digging holes in the hard rocky hill country ground and I will certainly put you to work! In exchange; an all you can eat fruit buffet in three years.

Bizarro Rocks!

Look at the wolf moon tonight! It's the biggest brightest moon we will see all year.

Ice was a good boy.

The alpha male of the Loba Blanca Hacienda wolf pack passed away on January 18th.

His name was Ice and he was a good boy.

He was born 15 years ago in 1995.

He loved the water and sitting in his bath tub.

He was a loyal companion to Wolfman and Wolfman loved him very much.

His mate's name is Pearl.

They had 5 beautiful white cubs in 2003.

Here he is with his daughter Stormy.

She is Winter's mom.

Ice and Pearl are on the top of the truck hanging out with the pack.

From left Star, Snow, Shorty, and Stormy. 

Snow is Winter's dad.

 Star is his future mate.

Shorty was a Dachshund who thought he was a wolf for a while.

RIP Ice

You will be missed.

We will not be playing Momo's this Sunday the 24th. We will be there again on Jan 31st at 8pm. Hope to see you then!

Will then their self righteous piety cease?
